5 Immediate Changes That
Boost Sales Site Profits
Copyright © LuAnn Elliott 2006
At times, it's important to give our sales pages a review to
make sure they contain the most important elements that will
lead to the highest amount of sales possible.
Here's a few quick items you can use to make immediate
changes to your sales site and improve your results.
REVIEW YOUR HEADLINE
First impressions are very important. What is the headline
on your page? Does it draw the reader in to the rest of your
text by summarizing the main benefit your product offers?
Does it stand out? Is it related to the advertising you've
used to bring people to your site?
STICK TO A SINGLE PURPOSE
Sales pages are not the place to include a lot of references
to other pages or products on your site. Most likely, your
advertising has intrigued people enough to come to your site
based upon one specific thing. Stick to explaining more about
the product you are offering. Lead readers through an
explanation of the benefits of your product and then take them
straight to the order button. Don't confuse them with a lot
of unrelated links, banners, or ads.
HIGHLIGHT KEY WORDS OR PHRASES
Let's face it, most people are not going to read every word
on your sales page. Therefore, it's important to highlight
the key words or phrases that will give them the basics of
what you are offering at a glance. Use bold text on active
phrases that will draw more interest. Use bulleted lists to
provide quick summaries of the important benefits of your
product. Use sub-headlines to catch the attention of skimming
readers and get them to read the full text.
INITIATE FOLLOW UP CONTACT
To make your site more efficient at making sales, find a way
to initiate follow up contact with those not prepared to make
a purchase right away. Anything you can offer that will
intrigue them into allowing you to stay in touch with them
in the future is worth your time and effort. Publish an
ezine, offer contests, product updates, drawings for free
products, free product trials, more information through an
auto responder or free ebook. Use your creativity to design
the perfect follow up system for your site.
INCLUDE BONUSES AND GUARANTEES
Often, people need just a little bit of extra incentive or
some reassurance before they will make a purchase. Consider
what you can offer as a bonus along with your product.
Consider as well what guarantee you can offer. Take away
people's fears and objections, give them a great deal, and
they'll be more likely to buy.
These are just a few simple items that will undoubtedly be
worth your time to review as you consider how to improve the
results of your sales pages. Even if you have each of these
elements in place already, it still pays to review them from
time to time and consider changes that might get more results.
